So if it’s not Christmas then it’s Halloween for me just lately! Do love a bit of spookiness I have to admit and I rarely get the opportunity to indulge in my darker side…that does sound a tad sinister doesn’t it!

I have used this gorgeous image from LEMON SHORTBREAD called SKULL BALLOON and given her a ghoulish ‘make up’.  I pulled out a few of my MANY Halloween style dies (I’ve got more cobwebs that my garden shed!!) and dressed her up for an All Hallows’ Eve party!

It’s a CAS week for the team this week which is always a thing I struggle with (like many I think).  

I resisted the urge to go 'die crazy' (don't know how?) and simply embossed my card after cutting a rectangle from it.  I then stuck a piece of paper behind coloured up my cutie POLAR BEAR stamped a sentiment and that was it.  Or so I thought until I could not help myself adding some punched snowflakes.  Oh well! :)

LDRS Creative – First Post with Art-Z Penny Peacock

Good morning everybody!  How are we all?

OK...so this happened….

Still pinching myself to be honest! So proud and honoured to be asked to join such a super talented group of ladies!  Anyway before I gush anymore I will get on with the job in hand!

So my first DT project for the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG features this stunning rubber stamp and die-set from Art-Z called PENNY PEACOCK.  This is a fabulous Zentangle style image that comes with sentiments and accessories and matching dies.

Such a unique and dramatic image deserved a bit of dramatic treatment I thought so I stamped on black card in Versamark then embossed with gold powder.  I then coloured using a very old set of metallic pencils I found; they worked surprisingly well considering their age. Bit like me really!!!! :)

I used the dies that come with the set to cut everything out then embossed a backing card with the fabulous PICNIC QUILT  embossing folder; an amazing value set of two wonderful designs! I then framed our lovely Penny using the GILDED OVAL DIE SET.

Colour Crazy Challenge – Wk 37: Anything Goes with Little Miss Muffet Stamps!

The image I have used this week is a sweet little boy called CANDY FLOSS CREW QUENTIN but I have managed to ‘unsweetened’ him somewhat by making him into a zombie/Day of the Dead character. Well I rarely get the opportunity to make anything for Halloween and I absolutely love it so jumped at the chance to ‘re-imagine’ this little lad as standing in a graveyard looking a little peaky! The skull on his sweater was the inspiration to be honest.

So lots and lots of dies and a spooky sky created with Distress Oxides later we hopefully have a suitable location for a zombie to play on his skateboard.  There’s even a pair of sinister googly eyes to cheer him on!

So it’s all about the guys for the team this week and I have made one of my brothers a birthday card and as he plays the guitar I found the perfect image in GUITAR BOY from the brilliant WORK & PLAY 8 collection.
