Digi Choosday Challenge – Celebrate With Winston!

LDRS Creative – A New Beginning!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday!

After our heatwave in the UK the sky has decided to send all the rain it has!!! The garden is happy that's for sure.

I’m flying in today to share my post for the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG and I have decorated a chipboard tag using the gorgeous A NEW BEGINNING stamp set.

I really do love these gorgeous ladies in the CRE8TIVE CRE8TIONS range, they lend themselves so well to a mixed media style.

Digi Choosday Challenge – We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Tree?!!

The team are in Christmas mode today (only a few months to go you know) and I have done a little digi-merging in Word to make my card this week.  I took ODDELLA FAIRY and placed her on top of the fabulously cute animal ‘tower’, SNOWDRIFT FRIENDS. 

So the story is this; ODDELLA attempted to stand on the rather teeny tiny decorated Christmas tree and managed to break it.  Oops!

So what could she do, a Christmas fairy NEEDS to stand on something?  Well it turns out all you need are FRIENDS. Hang some baubles (sequins) from them and there you go! Not too sure how happy they are about it though.

LDRS Creative – Pic-nicking!

Hello everyone!

I am posting on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG and today I would like to share a card made using the fabulous new stamp set ANTS PANTS.

Such a fun set and perfect for this ‘picnic’ time of year…well if you have good weather that is. We currently have a heatwave in the UK and I’m melting!!!

I do love to create scenes and little stories and I think we can guess what’s happening here!  The ants are making off with the picnic basket but losing quite a bit of its contents along the way!!

I chose one of the designs from the gorgeous YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE 6X6 PAPER PAD that matched my sky and cut an edge using the SURFING WAVE & SANDY BEACH  set and finished with some of the hearts from the SCALLOPED RECTANGLE.

And there we have it a cheeky team of pic-nicking ants and an epic fail!! LOL

So my last card is all about the stamping.

One die-cut snuck its way in there but I thought it would be nice to show how one amazingly versatile stamp set, SHORE LUCKY in this case, can make a simple card where you don’t have to worry about dimension or embellishments as the stamps do all the work for you….well you do have to get involved a bit.

I even have a tutorial to show you, so grab a cup of tea, mug of coffee (or something stronger if you need it) and let’s get started.

I began by creating a sunset on watercolour card with some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens

Next I used one of the dies from the WAVES & CLOUDS SET to cut a mask from scrap paper.

Taking my super black RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD I sponged at the bottom of my coloured background to create an ‘island’.

 I then cut the stunning SCALLOPED RECTANGLE from black card as I wanted a frame.

I used my stamp platform to align my stamps where I wanted them so that they would fit within the frame once I had stuck it down.

Using my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD I stamped another palm tree, a sentiment, the whale tail, splashes and birds all from the super SHORE LUCKY set to make my scene, and I completed it by adding highlights and interest with a white pen.

I wanted to ‘look out’ onto my idyllic island scene so I took the frame that I had previously cut from the SCALLOPED RECTANGLE  and removed one of the longer sides, inked with white, so that it would appear as a sort of gateway.

 All complete and all it needed was to be attached to a card blank. Simple really!

I have to admit to squealing just a little bit when I saw this gorgeous stamp set, HEATWAVE, and knew instantly what I wanted to create with the main image. 

I decided that she looked a little like a mermaid and after stamping her out with my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD I coloured her as such with my Copics.  I also gave her a ‘tail’ by stamping the ice cream cone and adding two of the feathers to the top.

The background was made with the awesome SUNBURST RECTANGLE die but I used it as a stencil, pushing gilding wax through for my shining rising sun. 

The sea is from the stunning YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE 6X6 PAPER PACK and I added the whale tail, splashes and birds from the SHORE LUCKY stamp set. I wanted a bit more dimension so I also added the waves from the fabulous SURFING WAVE & SANDY BEACH SET 

I cut one of the sentiments from HEATWAVE and VERY roughly cut it into a cloud shape then die cut another more professional looking one from the SUN & CLOUDS DIE SET.

Oh my goodness this July release is just GORGEOUS!! And very appropriate as the UK finds itself in the grip of a heatwave right now. Phew! 

So I would think that a nice cool, refreshing glass of lemonade would go down really well so for my card I have used the gorgeous new YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE 6X6 PAPER PACK and LEMONADE stamp set. Doesn’t that look tempting? 

Or maybe you have an ice cream in mind well we have that too, and it can be found in the HEATWAVE set. 

I stamped using my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD and coloured everything with pencils on watercolour card to add texture.

My ‘beach’ was made using a die from the new SURFING WAVE & SANDY BEACH and you can’t have a day at the beach without sunshine so the SUN & CLOUDS DIE SET

were used as a good place for my sentiment.
