To create a background I used Brusho’s however it does rather look as if she is floating around in deep space!! To boldly go and all that!

LDRS Creative – Because I ‘Felt’ Like It!

Hello everybody!  How are we all?

I’m on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today and I have something a little different to share with you.

Now before I start I feel as if I need to issue some kind of disclaimer…firstly I do not sew, secondly I do not sew and thirdly I do not…well I think you get the picture.

Now LDRS dies are famous for their clean cut and quick release on paper and card but how would they fare with felt? Captain Adventurous here thought she’d give it a go!

So my Christmas ornament is made using the HOLLY WREATH CIRCLE DIE SET and some rather suspect stitching.

Guest Designer for Love to Create!

Hello, how are things with you? Good I hope!

I have the honour of being Guest Designer on the LOVE TO CREATE challenge blog today and their theme is always Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes so plenty of scope there.

Ok so mixed media is not something that comes naturally to me but I did enjoy creating this piece even though I wasn’t 100% sure how successful I had been. 

I decorated a small canvas board by using texture paste through a brick stencil and then colouring with Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers.  I added lace and gesso and then some Frantage. 

The stamps and dies are all from POLKADOODLES, and I triple embossed the ‘BUBBLEICIOUS FRAME SET’, adding in glitter and different coloured powders between layers.  I then cut it in half.

More bits and bobs and splashes of white acrylic paint later (along with a voice in my head that kept yelling ‘STOP NOW’) and I was finished!

LDRS Creative – Polkadoodles: Tea-riffic

Hello everybody!  How are we all?

I’m on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today and I am showcasing this fabulous stamp from Polkadoodles called TEA-RIFFIC.

Ok so I was clearly still in Halloween mode when I came to colour this lovely lady but I was also inspired by the fabulous palette in the gorgeous SPLENDID AZURE PAPER COLLECTION.  The ‘bubbly’ pattern reminded me of a witches brew....and of course there are some here in the UK that call a cup of tea ‘a brew’ so it all fitted together quite nicely! Or so I thought anyway.

I used lots and lots of the AWESOME LDRS DIE SETS, (check out the fabulous offers on these at the moment in the store) using the BASIC CUTTING EDGE BORDERS 1 to create a shape for one of my mats.  I even made some rather dodgy looking spiders from the bow top of one of the dies in the DOTTED WINGS DIE SET!  Hmmmm! At least they are not as terrifying as some of the ‘monsters’ I have had in my house just lately! Eeeeeeek!

The team were challenged to use white with a hint of another colour this week but the red I have used on my make is more of a SHOUT than a hint and there’s a reasonable amount of black in there too! Oh well!

Another Halloween project from me today using an adorable ‘too cute to spook’ image from SCARP N DIPITY  called SCRIBBLE SALLY WITCH.

Another die purchase that I could not resist was this fabulous ‘graveyard’ from Tattered Lace and I placed everything on a background that was originally headed for the bin!! I wanted to play with the sparkle pens that came as part of my Gemini machine bundle and used some cheap watercolour card to see how they blended…well they didn’t (blame poor card not pens)! Lovely and sparkly though but they sort of worked as a sunset sky in an abstract kind of way so I kept it. I’m a crafter after all!
