So this week I got to play with the fab I’LL CRY IF I WANT TO BIRTHDAY PARTY –BIRTHDAY JAZ and one look at her sad little face told me she needed some colour in her life.  After some inky fun the other day I already had a background and I used some of my mini Tim Holtz stamps to give more interest and tore my outer layer for something a bit different…. alright so I stuck the first layer on wonky so decided to tear away the base layer so it wouldn’t show. Tell no one!!! 

She comes with a fab sentiment too so I cropped and reduced the ‘Happy Birthday’ and digitally added it to the paper she is holding.  Just to make her feel better.  I’m nice like that! 😊

The team are focusing on the sentiment this week but unfortunately I got a tad carried away with my clouds and stars and even added two images… so that’s me for the sack then!! LOL

So moving on from my shortcomings as a DT member I have used Serif to copy and manipulate some of pre-coloured images from the gorgeous new LIL MISS SUGARPOPS COLLECTION to create a background. I then added wings borrowed from the digi section of WORK & PLAY 9 to two of the sweet little character stamps. Very angelic don't ya think…much like myself!! 😇

So I just wanted to show you how I created my ickle 'angels'...not wanting to teach you to suck eggs of course... and although I created my background in Serif I manipulated these sweeties in Word.

Add your image to your page and resize as required.

Right click and WRAP TEXT then click THROUGH. The image can now be moved anywhere on the page. You can also do this step via the SIZE AND POSITION function seen below.

Then Insert the wings digi, resize and wrap text as before.

Resize the wings than move over the image...

 Then send to the back....repositioning and resizing as required.  Job done! 

Nikky Hall has a fab tutorial on YouTube showing you how to do this, explaining the method MUCH better than I have, so check it out HERE.

It is not my team’s week this time but I rudely jumped in again without being asked as I was all up to date with my DT work and had a real NEED to create! Why fight it I thought!! LOL

It was nice to be able to use a rubber stamped image for a change as this meant I could try my hand at a spot of water colouring (my printer does not use waterproof ink so not poss with digis).  So out came the Inktense Pencils and I gave it a go. Not as easy as I hoped I must say!

The DT had to use 'Pastel Colours' this week which I just about got away with...I think.  I made an anniversary card using this sweet couple from the new WINNIE SPECIAL MOMENTS collection. They are supposed to represent my sister-in-law and brother on one of their MANY beach holidays......I’m not bitter.

I even coloured the little guy to be a bit sunburnt as it is a common problem for members of my family when faced with that elusive thing called ‘A Sunny Day’!  I have Factor 5000 in my bathroom cabinet!!

Ok so this week the DT’s challenge was to go ‘Shabby Chic’ and I have to admit to really struggling with this one.  It’s a style I love...well when someone else does it…but this sort of design has a habit of running away from me and it can be difficult to know when to stop.

I used the gorgeous EDEN COLLECTION which contains some stunning shabby papers and added this gorgeous image, EDEN BLOSSOMS , which I haven’t actually used before. Why?? Well I think all that hair put me off.  Hair really scares me!!

I do adore Bugaboo images (I have quite a few) and was lucky enough to be able to work with this adorable little girl, UNICORN CHIBI, isn’t she just too cute for words!!!

Ok so I didn’t really want to be Captain Obvious on this one but the rainbow hair/tail simply had to be done, and I also attempted  'no-lines’ colouring. Goodness!! I decided to let this little sweetie be the only colour in the design and stuck strictly to a black and white backdrop.  Well at least this way I didn’t have to try and match my papers. No unicorn poop on me ya know!!
