LDRS Creative – Sink or Swim!

Hello everyone! I am posting on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today with the fabulous Raluca  showcasing some of the gorgeous new goodies that arrived in THE STORE this month.

This wonderful stamp is POLKADOODLES SINK OR SWIM and I’m erring on the side of ‘sink’ if I’m honest!! That’s a lot of animals in a very small boat! 

I stamped using the RAVEN HYBRID INKPAD and coloured with watercolour markers. I then cut some of the papers from the SPLENDID AZURE PAPER PACK using the POLKADOODLES WOODLAND FOLIAGE FRAMES.  I cut several of the large outer frame and as it has a wonderful ornate edge I layered them up to create a choppy ‘sea’. 

The stamped sentiment, ‘Together Forever’, is from the CRE8TIVE CRE8TIONS HUGGABLE SET and I ripped around it to make a flag although it might serve them better to read S.O.S.!

I finished with some pearl drops and used a circle base to make a rocker card; well they are in a rocky boat!

Digi Choosday Challenge – For My Dad!

The team are following a vintage theme this week so I thought I would make a tribute to my dad.  I found a few old photos (my dad in 1959, a train from one of our MANY trips to railway yards when I was little and his motorbike).  I scanned them and recoloured them to match the other embellies that I had digitally changed to sepia.

He had a great many hobbies and interests, my dad, most of which I have been able to include on my project….books, movies, music (particularly jazz), trains, motorbikes, photography and so much more. This piece has a slight nod towards mixed media with some random stamping and splashes of paint to add further interest.

LDRS Creative – I Love You More Than Treats!

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! I understand that it is Mother’s Day for some of you today so happy Mother’s Day to all you lovely mum’s out there.  In the UK we celebrated in March...we like to be different! LOL

I am posting on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today with a teeny tiny card made to show someone you love them…well more than treats anyway. 

So be prepared for an epic journey through some step by step photo’s as I show you how I did it.

Firstly I stamped the images I needed from the adorable stamp and die set PUPPY TIME (I’m totally in love with this set as I’m a bit dog mad) using the RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD . 

To make the card base I cut one of the larger dies from the JUBILEE MAGICAL SLIDER SET, and as the die embosses a crease line in the centre it was very easy to fold in half.

I then took one of the stunning papers are from the TLC COTTON CANDY PAPER PACK , and after trimming it to a size that would leave me a narrow border I cut one of the frames from the JUBILEE MAGICAL SLIDER SET giving me with an ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ piece. I also cut the stamped sentiment from the smaller matching die.

 I coloured my images with Copics and cut them out using the coordinating dies.  I then inked all my edges.

I added foam squares to the back of the outer frame (I won’t bore you with how long it took me to get the backs off!!) and after adhering the inner frame flat to my card blank I stuck my raised frame over that. 

I arranged my images as I wanted them and stuck down with some more foam pads, and then finished off by adding a couple of gems and a scribbly doodle border.  

And that was it, all done; a teeny tiny card just to say I love you.  Now just to find an envelope to fit it……..!!!

Polkadoodles New Release - Skateboard Little Dude!

Hello there!

I am back again today to share another image from Nikky’s latest download release LITTLE DUDES; and this is SKATEBOARD. 

I created a ‘skate park’ for him using circle dies and some of the fab papers that come with this image. I also used a couple of clear Polkadoodles stamps to give the place a ‘grungy’ look and to decorate his board.

Polkadoodles New Release – Knight & Dragon Little Dude!

Hi, how’s it going?

The launch party continues for Nikky’s new release LITTLE DUDES; a must-have range of boy images you’ll love.

I have used the adorable image KNIGHT & DRAGON LITTLE DUDE and he was just begging to be added to an appropriate scene. I made a portcullis from the POLKADOODLES MITRED THINGS dies and the castle shape was created from some of the smaller dies from the VERSATILE DOOR set. 

I do love this image, it may be my fave and has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sweetest little dragon you ever saw!!!!
