Creative Inspirations – A Birthday Card with the new Polkadoodles Udderly Cute Collection!

Hello, how are things? Happy New Year! 

We are back with our first challenge of the year over at the Creative Inspirations Blog and this month our theme is an easy one.

‘ANYTHING GOES!’

Natalie is generously providing the winner’s prize this time and it is a lovely train themed stamp set so come and join us!

For my card today I used the brand-new release from Polkadoodles called UDDERLY CUTE. Full of ridiculously cute, love-struck cows it is perfect for Valentine’s, birthdays and anniversaries.

I took all my elements into Word and added drop shadows so that I could print everything out on a single sheet of paper while still giving the illusion of dimension.

Whoohoo new Winnies are in the house (listen to me trying to ‘get down’ with the kids) and they are, as expected, totally and utterly gorgeous!!

I have used FRIENDLY CUDDLE  on my stepper card, look at those sweet snowmen.  I was inspired to make a stepper as I thought it would go well with one of the fabulous POINSETTIA LACE dies either side! Good idea or not, what do you think? Bit over the top?

LDRS Creative New Release Blog Hop Day 1

This is one of the samples I made for the shows using the stunning new goodies that you can peruse at your leisure HERE.

I started with a canvas panel and went mad with texture paste, paints and sprays. It actually didn’t start out as this fiery red but that’s the beauty of mixed media it sort of goes the direction IT wants...bit like my dog when we’re out walking as it happens!!

So my last card is all about the stamping.

One die-cut snuck its way in there but I thought it would be nice to show how one amazingly versatile stamp set, SHORE LUCKY in this case, can make a simple card where you don’t have to worry about dimension or embellishments as the stamps do all the work for you….well you do have to get involved a bit.

I even have a tutorial to show you, so grab a cup of tea, mug of coffee (or something stronger if you need it) and let’s get started.

I began by creating a sunset on watercolour card with some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens

Next I used one of the dies from the WAVES & CLOUDS SET to cut a mask from scrap paper.

Taking my super black RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD I sponged at the bottom of my coloured background to create an ‘island’.

 I then cut the stunning SCALLOPED RECTANGLE from black card as I wanted a frame.

I used my stamp platform to align my stamps where I wanted them so that they would fit within the frame once I had stuck it down.

Using my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD I stamped another palm tree, a sentiment, the whale tail, splashes and birds all from the super SHORE LUCKY set to make my scene, and I completed it by adding highlights and interest with a white pen.

I wanted to ‘look out’ onto my idyllic island scene so I took the frame that I had previously cut from the SCALLOPED RECTANGLE  and removed one of the longer sides, inked with white, so that it would appear as a sort of gateway.

 All complete and all it needed was to be attached to a card blank. Simple really!

Hello there!

I am back again today to share another image from Nikky’s latest download release LITTLE DUDES; and this is SKATEBOARD. 

I created a ‘skate park’ for him using circle dies and some of the fab papers that come with this image. I also used a couple of clear Polkadoodles stamps to give the place a ‘grungy’ look and to decorate his board.

Polkadoodles New Release – Knight & Dragon Little Dude!

Hi, how’s it going?

The launch party continues for Nikky’s new release LITTLE DUDES; a must-have range of boy images you’ll love.

The DT are showcasing these gorgeous images all week on Facebook so pop into our groups, CRAFT WITH POLKADOODLES & DIGI CHOOSDAY and join us. 

I have used the adorable image KNIGHT & DRAGON LITTLE DUDE and he was just begging to be added to an appropriate scene. I made a portcullis from the POLKADOODLES MITRED THINGS dies and the castle shape was created from some of the smaller dies from the VERSATILE DOOR set. 

I do love this image, it may be my fave and has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sweetest little dragon you ever saw!!!!
