Crafty Sentiments Challenge – Not a Card!

Hello! How are things?

I’m here again with my final GDT post for the CRAFTY SENTIMENTS CHALLENGE BLOG and I would like to thank both Suzette and Celine for inviting me to be part of the team.  I have had a wonderful time working with these adorable images.

So onto our theme this week and it is Not a Card!  We have a fabulous prize on offer for the winner so check out THE BLOG for all the details.

Oh how I do love mermaids and this lovely lady, ISOBEL – PRETTY BUBBLES, is no exception, isn’t she gorgeous! 

So I admit to making the easiest ‘Not a Card’ thing I could think of which was a tag then making it more complicated by creating the background myself.  It’s not like I don’t have enough patterned paper for goodness sake!! 

First I cut a tag from watercolour card then splodged various inks onto it and once dried embossed and sanded it back.  I loved the result and shall be doing it again…an afternoon of looking at green/blue fingers hasn’t even put me off.

I used my Brother Scan n Cut to cut out all the elements then it was simplicity itself to put together.  I still have bits left over for another project.

The DT are working with Summer Colours this week and I have used cuties that are part of the aptly named TOO CUTE RANGE.   My 2 images are called HANG IN THERE LITTLE MONKEY &  BANANAS ABOUT YA, and you get a free sentiment with each of the characters (the YOU’RE THE CHERRY ON TOP comes with a different image but I thought appropriate as I’d used cherry covered paper).

I digitally added the hanging monkey to the backing paper and printed the other separately to 3D up.  I also used this image to give him something to sit on by first cropping, enlarging, duplicating then fussy cutting the bananas out from the original image.  Phew!!

Crafty Sentiments Challenge – Pastel Colours!

Hello! How are things?

I’m here again with my penultimate GDT post for the CRAFTY SENTIMENTS CHALLENGE BLOG and our theme this week is Pastel Colours!

This super gorgeous stamp is called ORIENTAL – LOLLIPOP DREAMS and I simply had to place her in a blossom filled garden.  I think I sort of covered the brief for this challenge.  If you block out all the black there are pastel colours in there somewhere.

I wanted to paper-piece her kimono but in the end decided to ‘draw’ a design.  Can’t go too wrong with some black wiggly lines and a few white dots methinks.

So I had this rocker card blank knocking about on my desk for ages and I kept moving it from place to place until I thought “Why not use it?!” So I did. 

The DT theme this week was ‘Buttons’ so I used a die to create mine, arranging them to hopefully look like paw prints. Hmmmm!  I took one of the toppers from the adorable HORACE & BOO COLLECTION and used Serif to merges a few of the B/W digis to create a scene.  I got the ruler out to give Boo a ‘fishing rod’, so it looks like goldfish are definitely on the menu tonight!! Yum!!

Polkadoodles New Release – Ula Create!

Ok so I guess you’re sick of me now but you won’t see me again until Choosday so don’t panic!! 😉

This is my final sample made for the launch of the scrummy new Polkadoodles character ULA and this is ULA CREATE.

I made a bookmark this time creating a background with pearl dimension paste through a stencil, coloured with Distress Inks.  A little bit of random stamping as well but I steered clear of the Frantage this time…we are taking a break from each other! 😊

Don’t look, it’s me again! 😁

So here is another sample I made for the launch the gorgeous new Polkadoodles character ULA and this is ULA DON’T LISTEN another attempt from me at mixed media.

So I started my project by embossing a tag die cut and then breaking out the mica sprays.  I was in total shock that these sprays actually worked as I have had them forever; but work they did and they have a wonderful gleam to them.  Once dry I spoke nicely to my Frantage then stamped randomly with a tiny Polkadoodles ‘bubble’ stamp.

Ok so now comes the hard part.  Believe it or not I decided, for crazy reasons all my own, to create Ula’s hair from flowers.  So I digitally added some of the gorgeous blooms from the LEMONADE FIZZ collection INDIVIDUALLY in Word.  Big mistake as the program crashed as I was about 3 flowers from the finish line!! Grrrrr! So Serif to the rescue and I managed to complete it.  I also added and decoupaged 3 butterflies for good measure. I needed 3 sugars in my tea after all that!

Polkadoodles New Release - Ula Be Strong

Hello, me again!
So here is another sample I made for the launch of Nikky’s super cute new Polkadoodles character ULA!

So this is ULA BE STRONG and I decided to decorate a MDF plaque with some of the fab papers and toppers from the BELLE PAPILLON COLLECTION.

I covered the plaque with paper then added silver gilding flakes to the edges! Oh!  My!  Word!  I had forgotten how utterly unruly this medium is. I thought the Frantage and I had fallen out but this reached a whole new level!! Not too sure my neighbours had ever heard language like it!!

I think this image may be my fave of the collection; just love her! And look at her amazing ‘do’!

Hello, I’m back with another sample I made for the launch of Nikky’s utterly gorgeous new Polkadoodles character ULA!

So this is ULA INNER BEAUTY and don’t you just love her fabulous hat! 

More Frantage on this one! We are enjoying a love/hate relationship it has to be said!!

Polkadoodles New Release - Ula Be a Princess

Hellooooo! How are you?

Well I’ve just popped in to introduce you to another stunning new addition to the Polkadoodles family and her name is ULA! Swooooon!

The DT is showcasing these gorgeous images all week on Facebook so pop into our groups, POLKADOODLES CRAFTING, DIGI CHOOSDAY & COLOUR CRAZY and join us.  It’s here that you will be able to marvel at all the truly incredible projects created by the DT.

Now Nikky has designed these lovely ladies with their thoughtful, inspiring sentiments to lend themselves to art journaling or mixed media, but of course you can use them in any way you wish. Today something a little different from me as I have gone the mixed media route and decorated a canvas.

The background was created with PANPASTELS and the edges blinged up with rather stubborn, “I will not stay where you put me” Frantage!!  I’m currently not talking to it!
