Hello! Happy Sunday!

Now ever since I was little (yes, I can remember that far back; just) I have loved shadow puppets (!). My parents even bought me a shadow theatre complete with odd looking characters and I played with it constantly...well until it sort of disintegrated.  And I think that is where my love for silhouettes comes from.  So how could I possibly resist these GORGEOUS new Polkadoodles stamps that were premiered on Hochanda recently?

The beauty of a silhouette stamp is that it cries out for an interesting background.  So step up please all those mop-up, stencil cleaning & general experimenting bits of paper that have accumulated in my ‘oooh-must-do-something-with-that’ drawer.

I used quite a textured watercolour paper so stamping the silhouettes was never going to be easy.  Thank goodness for a stamping platform, how did I manage without one?

Digi Choosday Challenge –Be a Mermaid!

Good morning everybody!

I really love to play with ink, paint and pigment powders to create backgrounds but this is my first attempt with alcohol inks on plastic craft paper… and I absolutely love it.  It's great fun but do wear gloves as you will stain your hands. Ask me how I know this??!!

So my card today features the stunning MERIBELLE SWISHY TAIL and I have cropped her and placed her inside the card, over my inky background.

I also cut an aperture in the front of the card so that you can just see her peeping through and used the flower stamps from the BEST OF DAYS to create an underwater/other-worldly sort of look. I think you get what I mean.

LDRS Creative –Celebration Page!

Hello everyone!

I am posting on the LDRS CREATIVE INSPIRATION BLOG today sharing a page from my ‘Messing Around Book’ (or art journal if you prefer).

This AMAZING girl stamp is from the CELEBRATION STAMP SET and is absolutely HUGE!! I kid you not!!  I stamped her with my RAVEN HYBRID INK  and coloured with watercolour paints and I did the same with the single balloon stamp, adding the heart stamp to the centre for luck. 

My background was created by sweeping all the colours in the COUNTY FAIR HYBRID INK MINI PACK and the SUMMER SHORE HYBRID INK MINI PACK (well apart from the white) across the paper both up and down until I had a coverage and colour I liked.  

For more texture and interest I used some of the smaller stamps in the CELEBRATION STAMP SET, stamping some with the Hybrid Inks and some to be embossed with gold glitter powder.  I then added texture paste through the WAFFLE CONE STENCIL.

I edged the page and all the added images with RAVEN HYBRID INK and finally created a flower from the heart stamp to add to my lovely lady’s hair.  Of course this had NOTHING whatsoever to do with wanting to cover up my completely appalling water colouring underneath. Oh no, nothing whatsoever!!!

It’s an Easter theme for the team this week and I have made a double tag using a couple of digi images, COOL DUDE & HAPPY WOOF-DAY DOG . 

So I had this idea that would not go away and I have to try to make it whether it ended well or not. Inside my head is a very messy place you know.  So my idea was to dress my poor COOL DUDE as a happy, hoppy Easter bunny using the COTTONTAIL BUNNY RABBIT set.  Have to say that he doesn’t look all that happy about it; apparently his doggie is struggling with it too.
