Hope you are enjoying our blog hop, showcasing the AMAZING June release.  Well I have a tutorial for you today so brace yourself for a photo heavy post!

I have CASED myself today, believe it or not, as I have replicated (more or less) a design I created a while ago.

I wanted to use a DL card blank (9.9cm x 21cm or 3.90” x 8.26”) for this project so I began by cutting a piece of craft plastic paper to fit on top.  I then dropped alcohol inks and blending solution onto it to create a ‘sky’.

Next I stamped my images from the SPOT ON stamp set in FLESH HYBRID INK and coloured with Copics.

I also stamped and coloured the tree trunk from the NUTS ABOUT YOU set; and elongated it by masking.

I cut some kraft card with the IN THE GRASS dies and some white with the IN A CLOUDY SKY set.

Now if you are of a nervous disposition you may want to look away now….. I cut my giraffe in half!! Eeek! I know, but don’t panic he didn’t feel a thing… hopefully!!

I added foam tape to the back of my kraft pieces and added them to the bottom of my inked background.

I stuck the giraffe’s bottom half (!) in amongst the grass and inked my clouds with SWIMMING HOLE HYBRID INK from the COUNTY FAIR MINI PACK.

I then added foam tape and decided where I wanted to position the clouds in order to hide the fact that the giraffe’s neck was not THAT long.

I stamped one of the sentiments from SPOT ON with my RAVEN HYBRID INK PAD and cut it out with one of the small frames from the SCALLOPED RECTANGLE FRAME SET.  I wanted to create a sign post so cut a strip of kraft card to add behind it.

So after all the stamping, colouring and die-cutting was done ...

...I added everything to my card to create my impossibly tall giraffe out and about with his much shorter friend.
