A Halloween Scene with Some Die Soup and Bob the Spider!

Good morning everybody!

It’s Choosday which means it’s time for a new ‘Anything Goes’ challenge over at POLKADOODLES DIGI CHOOSDAY and as always we have a wonderful prize on offer for our lucky winner so check out the BLOG for details.

Don’t forget it is also DISCOUNT DAY so you need to grab the code on THE BLOG to get a MASSIVE reduction in the POLKADOODLES SHOP! It’s for a limited time only so be quick!

Halloween is just around the corner (so is Brexit apparently, who knew?) so I have created a Halloween scene in a sort of shadow box card thingy.

I began with two pieces of card (1 printed) to make my base and I have a tutorial for this on my previous blog HERE. Then I cut a piece of craft plastic paper to fit inside and coloured it with alcohol inks.

I added some grey card cut with my LDRS Creative IN THE GRASS die set and attached it to the front.

Now to make ‘Bob the Spider’ (so called because if I had made him in yellow he could have passed for Bob the Minion…probably). I used the HAPPY FESTIVE SNOWMAN die set and as I was making Bob into a double sided tag I cut 2 each of the shapes I needed (the snowman head and hat fur) and 8 of the snowman arms which would be Bob’s spindly legs. I also followed the smile line on the head die-cut with a metallic paint pen.

Now to my grumpy bird. He was made using the ROBIN ON A BRANCH DIE set cutting all the main pieces in black and edging each with white ink. I cut 6 wing shapes as I wanted him to have an ominous ‘cloak-like’ look and even ended up adding an extra pair for good measure.

And here they are….what a dodgy duo!!

So this is where I fast forward a bit using other dies to give depth to the scene and using the POSYDOODLES BASIC TAGS to make the gravestones.

I coloured the super cute WINNIE WEDNESDAY SKULL and added her to the front, she has a skull & crossbones in her hair not from a design point of view but to cover a smudge.

The bats are the holly piece from the ROBIN ON A BRANCH DIE set with a couple of dots for eyes.

Oh Bob you fool!!!
